Edit Member Since Dates
Users with "Groups: Edit" permission will be able to access and edit groups.
"Groups: Edit - Can Edit All Groups" allows for editing of all groups and "Groups: Edit - Can Edit Subordinate Groups" allows for editing groups where the user is listed as a group manager.

Edit Member Since Dates
Member since dates can only be edited within the group editor.
You can set or edit a member since date up to the start of the previous month.
Ex. If it's the month of January, I can select a member since date back to December 1st. For assistance setting member since dates further in the past, reach out to gethelp@ambition.com.
Users cannot have a member since date set prior to the date their account was activated in Ambition. A user's activation history can be seen within their user settings. If you need assistance altering a user's activation history, reach out to gethelp@ambition.com.

Access Group Editor
1. Open the left navigation and click Administration > People > Groups.
2. Upon accessing the Groups tab, you will see the Group Manager.
If you can have permission to "Edit All Groups", then all group types and groups that your organization has created will be found here.
If you have permission to "Edit Subordinate Groups", then only group types that contain groups where you are listed as a manager of will be found here. You will have visibility and access to editing groups where you are listed as a manager.

3. Select the respective group type and then the group's name that has members who need member since dates adjusted.
Alternatively, you can access a group's settings through their dashboard.
Access the dashboard of the group you wish to edit.
↳ You can search for a specific group's dashboard by name through the search bar in the upper left.
Click the "Edit Group" button.
You will be navigated into the group editor.
Set Member Since Date for New Members

1. On the Members tab, click the Add Members button.
2. On the Add Members modal, you will see a Member Since selector.
3. If new members should be considered members of the respective group from today going forward, no change is needed to the "member since" date.
If new members should be considered members of the respective group from a date in the past, you can select a "member since" date up to the start of the previous month.
Ex. If it's the month of January, I can select a date back to December 1st. For assistance selecting dates further in the past, reach out to gethelp@ambition.com.
If you receive an error of, "The date of the selected users cannot be before the last account activation date of the selected users (date). Contact gethelp@ambition.com for assistance." it is signifying that a user cannot be a member of a group before their account was added in Ambition.

4. Search for and select the user(s) that you wish to add as members of the group.
Existing group members will not show in the "Available" or "Selected" user lists.
5. Click Preview Changes.
6. Review any Conflicting Memberships.
To prevent accidental group changes, you will be alerted when moving a user into a different group.
You cannot have the same user within multiple groups within one group type.
For example, if you are looking in the "location" group type, Amanda can only be in either Atlanta, San Francisco, or Nashville. She cannot be a member of multiple locations at once.
In the example below, Alejandra is a current member of the "Sales Development Representatives" role group. The membership update message is to alert you Alejandra will be removed from the Sales Development Representatives role group and will now be a member of the Account Executives role group as Alejandra can only belong to one role group at at time.
Confirm changes by clicking Add Members.
Newly added members will now appear under the group's members tab.
Adjust Member Since Date for Existing Members
1. Ensure you are on the Members tab.
2. Search for and Select the Members whose member since dates need to be adjusted.
You can filter by Name, Scorecard Group, Member Since Date, and Last Modified through the filters icon, .
Select a Member by clicking the checkbox to the left of their profile image.
Select All Members by clicking the checkbox to the left of the "Name" header.
3. After selecting the appropriate users, click the Actions button and then Edit Member Since Dates.
4. Click on Set Member Since Date to reveal a calendar where you can select the appropriate date.
You can select the member since date up to the start of the previous month.

5. Click Preview Changes.
6. Review any group membership updates.
To prevent accidental overwriting of previous group memberships, you will be alerted when adjusting a date impacts a user's membership history for another group.
A user cannot belong to multiple groups within one group type at the same time, so changing member since date will impact membership of a previous group(s).
For example, if you are editing a member since date for a group in the "location" group type, a user can only be in either Atlanta, San Francisco, or Nashville during the same time frame. They cannot be a member of multiple locations during the same time frame.
In this example, Stacey is now a current member of the "Boston" location group, but was a member of the "San Diego" location group until October 4th. The group membership update message is to alert you that setting the member since date for the "Boston" location to October 1st will alter Stacey's previous location group membership and set the date of Stacey's membership with the "Boston" group to start October 1st.
Confirm changes by clicking Edit Member Since Date.
