What is the effectiveness tab?
The effectiveness tab helps answer the question, "is our coaching being effective and positively impacting performance?".
On the effectiveness tab you will find a line graph that allows you to visualize data for up to 10 metrics before the cadence begins, during the cadence, and post cadence to help assess the impact of the cadence.
The line graph is an average of all the cadence employees, but you can filter down to specific groups of employees or specific employees. An average allows to account for different start dates, completion dates and progress timelines - ex. Susan took six weeks to complete the cadence in January. Carson took five weeks to complete the same cadence in October.
In addition to the graph, a grid presents information for each employee's specific progress and percent change.
How do I select which metrics should be tracked in a cadence?
Metrics can be added to a cadence during creation or at any time while the cadence is in draft or open status. Metrics will be selected during Step 2 of cadence creation. Up to 10 metrics can be tracked per cadence at a time. Learn more about creating cadences here.
The metrics you wish to track within a cadence can be updated at any time. Upon updating cadence metrics, the graph and employee table shown on the effectiveness tab will be recalculated and updated. Metrics will be updated in Step 2 of the edit cadence form. Learn more about editing cadences here.
How do I access the effectiveness tab?
1. Open the left navigation and click Coaching > Cadences.
2. Locate the cadence where you wish to view effectiveness, and click on the cadence's name.
3. Click on the Effectiveness tab.
4. If the cadence has metrics selected and employees have started the cadence, you will be presented with the effectiveness line graph and grid.
Effectiveness Information |
Description |
Name |
The employee enrolled in the cadence. |
Manager |
The manager assigned to approve the employee's cadence check-ins. |
Start Date |
The date the employee started the cadence. If the employee has been enrolled in the same cadence multiple times, the start date will reflect their most recent enrollment. |
Completion Date |
The date the employee completed the cadence. If the If the employee has been enrolled in the same cadence multiple times, the completion date will reflect their most recent enrollment. |
Cadence Metric Name |
If the employee has completed the cadence, each column that contains metric information will display:
|
Percent Change |
If the employee has completed the cadence, the percent change column will display the difference in metric value from the start of the cadence to completion of the cadence as well as the percent difference of those values. |
The effectiveness tab can be filtered based on specific metrics, specific groups of employees or specific employees, and you can adjust the pre and post cadence time frames shown.
Click the filters icon, , in the upper right to refine the data shown on the graph and grid.
Available Filters
Filter | Filter Options |
Time Series |
"Day" or "Week" time frame options to determine the X-Axis of the graph, ex. Day 1, Day 2 or Week 1, Week 2. "Week" will only be available for cadences that are longer than a week. Ex. if the cadence has 5 steps and a new step opens every day, "Day" will be the only time frame option. |
Pre-Cadence Timeframe |
Determine how much metric data is shown on the graph prior to the employee starting the cadence. If "day" is the selected time series, you can show up to 60 days of data prior to the cadence's start. If "week" is the selected time series, you can show up to 10 weeks of data prior to the cadence's start. |
Pre-Cadence Timeframe - Don't Show |
Check the "don't show" box if you want pre-cadence time frame data hidden from the graph. If checked, the start of the cadence will be the first data point on the graph. |
Post-Cadence Timeframe |
Determine how much metric data is shown on the graph after the employee completed the cadence. If "day" is the selected time series, you can show up to 60 days of data post cadence completion. If "week" is the selected time series, you can show up to 10 weeks of data post cadence completion. |

Metrics |
Determine which cadence metrics are shown on the graph. All of the metrics that are associated with the cadence will be available. If you wish to add of remove metrics from the cadence itself, metrics will be updated in Step 2 of the edit cadence form. Learn more about editing cadences here. |
