Create Microsoft Service Account
Users with the "Integrations: Edit" permission will be able to access the integrations tab in Ambition.
The following steps assume the calendar sync integration is enabled and Microsoft has been selected as the provider. Learn more about how to enable the integration and select a calendar provider here.
Creating the service account and completing setup in Ambition will require access to both Microsoft and Ambition. You will need start in the Azure portal, navigate to Ambition, and finish the process back in the Azure portal.
1. Visit the Azure Portal.
2. Click “Microsoft Entra ID” in the sidebar.
3. Next click “+ Add” then “App Registration”.
4. Enter a name for the app and select “Single Tenant” and click the “Register” button.
5. After registering the app, visit “API Permissions” in the manage sidebar.
6. Click “Add a permission” then click “Microsoft Graph”.
a. Choose application permissions.
b. Search and add the following permissions:

- User.Read.All
- Calendars.ReadWrite

c. Click Command-Grant admin consent.
7. Visit the “Overview” section in the sidebar.
8. Copy the “Application (client) ID” and “Tenant ID”.
The copied IDs will be pasted into Ambition in Step 4 below.
Input Service Account Information Into Ambition
1. Navigate to Ambition.
2. Open the left navigation and click Administration > Data > Integrations.
3. Click Edit in line with the Calendar Sync integration.
4. Click on the "Microsoft Settings" tab.
5. With the IDs that were copied in Step 8 above, paste the "Tenant ID" and "Application (client) ID" into the respective fields.
6. Click Save.
7. Under the Azure App Certificate heading, click Download Certificate.
You will upload the certificate within the Azure Portal in the following steps.
Finalize Service Account
1. Navigate back to the Azure portal.
2. Visit the “Certificates & secrets” section in the sidebar and click “Upload Certificate”.
3. Select the file you downloaded from Ambition.
4. Click “Add” at the bottom of the screen.
5. After uploading the certificate, Ambition will be connected to the service account.
All Ambition users with manager permission will now automatically have their calendars connected. Managers will not have to individually authenticate for their check-in’s to be pushed to their Google calendar.
