Manage Pipeline Data
Those with "Pipeline: Access Views" will have the ability to create a pipeline view based on the data your organization sends to Ambition. However, all data types and all fields may not be appropriate for all managers to see and use on their views. The manage tab allows for customization of which record types and fields are presented to managers when creating pipeline views. Additionally, default insights can be configured per record type to save managers clicks and time when they are creating views.
Access Manage Tab
Managing pipeline data is dependent on the "Pipeline Intelligence: Pipeline Views" feature being enabled.
Users with "Pipeline: Manage Views" permission can enable or disable the record and field level tracking for use with pipeline intelligence.
1. Open the left navigation and click Pipeline.
2. Click on the "Manage" tab.
All record types that are available for use within pipeline intelligence, Salesforce objects* and reports and/or record level data that's received through API, FTP, or file update, will display.
* the Task object from Salesforce is not available for use within pipeline intelligence at this time.
Once on the pipeline manage tab, you can:
- opt out of new data sources and fields automatically being accessible when creating pipeline views
- restrict a record-type (ex. specific integration or Salesforce object) from being accessible when creating pipeline views
- restrict specific fields from being accessible when creating pipeline views
- pre-configure insights per record type to save managers clicks and time
Require Explicit Action for Future Data Sources and Fields
By default, new records types and fields that are added to Ambition will be eligible for use in pipeline views.
If you wish to require explicit enablement of new record types and fields, ex. Salesforce object synced with Ambition for the first time or new fields are added to an existing Salesforce object, for use within pipeline views:
1. Toggle the "Auto-enable new record types and fields" off (blue is not showing).
2. Click Save.
Disable a Record-Type From Use in Pipeline View
If you wish a record type to not be available for use within pipeline views:
1. Uncheck the "enabled" box in line with the respective record type.
2. Click Save.
Configure Fields That Are Available for Use in Pipeline Views
If you wish to exclude specific fields from use in pipeline views:
1. Click on the number within the fields column that's in line with the respective record type.
2. Unselect fields that should not be accessible while creating pipeline views.
If a field had previously been disabled, reselect the respective fields that should be accessible while creating pipeline views.
3. Click Apply.
4. Click Save on the manage page to save your changes.
Configure Insights
Insights can be generated for pipelines views, and additional record-type specific information can be included to help provide more in-depth insights.
Managers can input the insights information, but insights can also be configured per record type to provide mangers with rich insights from the start.
To configure insights per record-type:
1. Click on the pencil icon within the insights column that's in line with the respective record type.
2. Select and input any available insights information and enable or disable any of the available insight types.
3. Click Apply.
4. Click Save on the manage page to save your changes.
