Trigger Email Frequency
Trigger Emails can be sent at two frequencies:
Firing when the criteria is met.
Firing at a set daily, weekly, or monthly cadence.
Who receives Trigger Emails?
Notifications are set on a per Trigger level. Learn more about creating Triggers here.
Email Notification Option | Notification Description |
My Email Address |
An email will be sent to the Trigger creator's email address. |
Employee Email Address |
An email will be sent to the selected email address. A drop down will appear listing all Users with active Ambition accounts. Great for notifying multiple Managers or Users on a single Trigger. |
Custom Email Address |
An email will be sent to the input email address. Use for any one/any group who needs to receive Trigger updates, but DOES NOT have an Ambition account. ex. salesteam@yourcompany.com or vpsales@yourcompany.com Example Trigger Email Notification Pro Tip: Ensure that any distributions lists have the proper protocols adjusted to allow Ambition emails to be received. |
Trigger Initiator Email Address(es) |
Will populate only when User is selected as the Trigger's Hierarchy Level. An email will be sent to any User(s) that fire off the Trigger! |

What does a Real-Time Trigger Email look like?
A real-time Trigger will fire to the respective Users as set in the Notifications.
The email will contain:
- The Ambition User's name who created the Trigger
- The Trigger's name
- The User's name and image who fired off the Trigger
- If set, the Trigger's message and optional image/GIF

What does a Scheduled Trigger Email look like?
A scheduled Trigger will fire to the respective Users as set in the Notifications.
Scheduled Triggers serve as an excellent means of proactive notification.
Example below shows the number of Outbound Calls made by a Manager Group. The Manager can quickly identify who needs a mid morning check-in to get on track for the day.
The email will contain:
- The Ambition User's name who created the Trigger
- The Trigger's name
- The Users' names, images, and Metric values for the respective Trigger criteria
- If set, a Trigger message and optional image/GIF
