Building Coaching Program Templates
Most managers want to coach, but they don't always know where to start. Templates help de-stress the situation, turning any manager into a prepared & effective coach.
Coaching Program Templates are true to the term template. Admins can build out the structure of the coaching program (questions, key metrics, etc.) so that when a manager is ready to initiate a coaching program, they can select the pre-built template as a basis for their program.
Need example templates to help get started with Coaching?
Create a New Coaching Program Template
1. Open the left navigation and click Administration > Coaching > Program Templates.
2. Click the green Create button
3. Complete the Template Builder Form.
A name is required for the Coaching Program Template. This name will used for all consecutive Programs that are built off this template.
We recommend names that incorporate the target contributors, topic of focus and frequency of check in.
- SDR Daily Update
- AE Weekly Update
- AE Monthly Pipeline Review
- Employee Quarterly Performance Review
A description is required. Simply describe the purpose of the Coaching Program
An objective is optional. If your Program has a specific purpose (and typically, an explicit start and end date) we recommend defining on objective.
Select which Managers should have access to the Program Template.
You can grant access to All Managers or hand pick individual Managers using Custom.
Note: This does NOT automatically start a Program for the Managers selected, but rather access to the template is given.
What questions do you want Managers asking thier reps? Questions can be required or optional.
If you're feeling stuck, we've compiled a Question Library to help get some ideas flowing.

Attribution Metrics (optional)
Define up to three Metrics that you would like tracked/correlated with this Program Template.
Similar to defining an objective, if your Program has a specific purpose (and typically, an explicit start and end date) we recommend establishing attribution Metrics.
For example, if the Template's Objective is for an eight week Program around setting great appointments, you can define "Appointments Held" and "Appointments Set" as your attribution metrics to determine the Program's effectiveness over time, per-person.
If you're running a standard, weekly check-in, it probably does not make sense to set attribution.
Note: Attribution Metrics cannot be changed once the Program Template is saved.
Learn more about how Attribution is calculated here.
4. Click Create Program Template in the bottom right hand corner to save your Template.
The Template is now available for the designated Managers to utilize when building Coaching Programs.
