User FAQs
How do I create, edit, and deactivate users?
Ambition offers a variety of ways to create and edit users!
Add Users
Learn more about the best practices for adding users here.
Edit Users
Users can be updated in bulk through a CSV upload. Learn more here.
Users can also be manually updated, appropriate for more one-off updates. Learn more here.
Deactivate Users
By default if a user is deactivated from within your Salesforce instance, their Ambition account is deactivated as well.
To remove accounts, users can be manually deactivated right in Ambition. Learn more here.
Can I create a user but not invite them until later?
Absolutely! During the creation process make sure to uncheck the "invite" box before saving.
Ambition offers several flexible methods of inviting users to Ambition.
If utilizing Salesforce, users will see an, "Unfortunately it looks like Ambition has not been setup for you yet. Please contact your Salesforce admin." message if they have had an Ambition account created for them but have not yet been invited.
If utilizing single sign-on, after being invited to Ambition users will be prompted in their email invitation to activate their account. They will be redirected to login to Ambition with their company-managed credentials.
What happens when I deactivate a user?
We remove the account from appearing across the site and it no longer counts towards your organization's number of active seats.
The user's historical metric contributions will continue to be rolled up to group-level data. For example, the metric totals on the 'Account Executive Role Dashboard' will continue to include the deactivated user's contributions for the time frame that the user was contained within the group.
If necessary, you can reactivate the user later.
You will reactivate the user by accessing the left hand navigation > Administration tab > People > Users and sort for Is Active = No in the dropdown menu.
What does the "Last Login" date found within user management represent?
The "Last Login" date records the last time that a user logged into their Ambition account. The last login date is measured through Google Analytics, which is Javascript-based system. Ad-blockers typically block Javascript-based programs, which can then skew the data which Google Analytics collects.
Additionally, due to Google Analytics using first-party cookies to collect data, page views, sessions, and time in Ambition, Google Analytics data will not be collected when viewing Ambition within Salesforce.
If your users use ad-blockers or access Ambition primarily through Salesforce, it's possible that log in attempts are not being recorded in Ambition, which can make it appear as if a user had not logged in for a long period of time.
