Plan and Build Metrics
A Metric (KPI) is a quantifiable measure that is used to track and assess the status of a specific process. In other words, a Metric is a measurable/countable action -- an Email Sent, a Lead Converted, a Deal Won, etc.
Metric Definitions are the key to connecting your integrated business data to your individual Users. Metrics establish the connection between data and people, creating numerical metric values.
It's important to note that all data in Ambition must be attributable to a user. If your data exists at a Team or Organizational level, you must break that data down into User level Metrics.
Things to consider while building each Metric:
What is your source of truth for this specific Metric? Are you currently reporting on the desired Ambition Metrics?
Is there an existing source of truth for the metric you are building? A report? A dashboard?
↳ If not, what source will you compare and validate data in Ambition against?
↳ If you needed to pull a "Today" report of the desired Metric, could you?
Does every Manager track this metric the same way?
↳ If not, is Ambition going to be used to unify multiple ways tracking? Has your team been made aware? Do multiple metrics need to be made to track the respective variances?
What filters are used in that report?
↳ Can they all be recreated in Ambition?
↳ Are there filters on your report that are not needed in Ambition?
ex. If your report filters out data by Role or a User Group, ie. Assigned Role = SDR, it will not necessarily be essential to include in Ambition. Data will first be associated with individual users and then rolled up within Ambition creating the same Assigned Role = SDR filtering and allowing more flexibility regarding who can populate the respective metric.

Does the Metric Logic created in Ambition match the source of truth report exactly?
↳Again verify that your team is unified about the source of truth. If there are variances between Ambition and their individual reporting, they will notice!
How does your system of record handle deleted records?*
↳ How will deleted records be updated in Ambition? Does your system of record include an "Is Deleted" field that can be utilized in Ambition as well?
↳ * Salesforce metrics that are built off of Salesforce Objects, not through the Report Sync, will automatically have an
Is Deleted = False filter added upon saving to account for deleted records.
