Manage Check-In Rating Categories
When a coaching session is closed out, each check-in has an optional rating (these ratings are scored on a 1-5 point scale). Ratings provide an outlet for managers to give feedback directly to their employees.
Employee visibility into check-in ratings is determined at the organization level. Learn more about hiding or showing rating to employees here.
The default rating categories within Ambition are Preparedness, Engagement, and Coachability.

Create New Rating Categories
The default rating categories within Ambition are Preparedness, Engagement, and Coachability.
There is currently no limit to the number of ratings that can be created.
1. Open the left navigation and click Coaching > Manage.
2. Select Rating Categories.
3. Click the + Rating Category Button.
4. Complete the rating category form.
Label: Name of the rating category. Here you'll type in attributes like Leadership Skills, Preparedness, or Coachability.
Description: The description will appear in the help text next to the rating category in the check-in as seen in the image below. The description provides additional context to the rating category for both the manager who is proving the rating and to the employee who receives the rating from their manager.
Inactive <> Active: If you wish to use the rating in a current or new check-in and/or template, leave the toggle set to Active. Ratings can be created in an inactive state. However, until a rating is set to active, the rating will not be available to admins and managers.
5. Click Save Rating Category.
Edit or Disable/Enable Existing Rating Categories
1. Open the left navigation and click Coaching > Manage.
2. Select Rating Categories.
3. Click on the rating's label or the icon and Edit next to the category you wish to edit.
4. Make needed updates.
Label: Edit the label (name) that is shown in the check-in ratings. Renaming the label of a rating category will rename it in all historical and future check-ins. It will not reset or impact previously submitted ratings.
Description: Edit the description that is shown in the check-in rating help text as seen in the image below.
Inactive <> Active: Deactivate or activate the rating category by toggling to the needed "Inactive" or "Active" state.
↳ Deactivating a rating category will remove the rating category from all historical and future check-in ratings. If you need to preserve the historical ratings, we recommend exporting your coaching data prior to disabling the category. Reactivating the category will restore any historical rating data to historical check-ins.
5. Click Save Rating Category.
