Managerial Dashboard
Once a user has been assigned the system manager permission in Ambition, a managerial dashboard will be created for them, and they will have access to the managerial dashboard through the dashboard tab in the left navigation. Once they've been set as a manager of users, either through managing groups in Ambition or being set as a manager in a user's profile, their managerial dashboard will begin populating with data.

Access Your Managerial Dashboard
A managerial dashboard will be created for users with the system manager permission, and managers are able to view their own managerial dashboard.
Access to viewing all managerial dashboards is restricted to those with the system admin permission. While able to view all managerial dashboards, an admin will be unable to view the "homepage" tab. The "coaching" tab on all managerial dashboards can only be seen by admin when they have "Coaching: All Access" permission.
1. Open the left navigation and select Dashboards > Managerial.
View Users You Manage
Within your settings on the "manager" tab:
1. Open the left navigation and click on your image and name in the lower left corner. Select User Settings.
2. Click on the "Manager" tab.
3. The manager tab will list all employees that are managed by the respective manager.
The relationship to the managed user will be shown as well as the “managed since” date, or the date the employee began being managed by the respective manager.
Available manager relationships:
- Direct - the manager directly manages an employee. The manager is set as the “manager” in the employee’s user settings.
- Skip-level - the employee is directly managed by a manager that the manager manages, Ex. Manager A manages Employee A. Manager B directly manages Manager A. Employee A is then a skip-level employee of Manager B.
- Group - the employee is a member of a group that the manager manages. The name of the respective group(s) will be listed as well.
On your managerial dashboard:
1. Open the left navigation and select Dashboards > Managerial.
2. Clicking the Contributors button found on the header will display all users that have you listed as a manager either though a group association or manager in their user settings.
The contributors panel will list all employees that are managed by the respective manager.
These names are clickable links that will take you to each individual's respective Dashboard.
Additionally, a leaderboard for all managed users can quickly be accessed by clicking the graph icon button.
Quick Actions
In the upper right corner of any page in Ambition, you'll find the Quick Actions button.
Clicking the Quick Actions button will reveal a modal which provides quick access to the action you may want to take in Ambition.
The options shown and features you have access to will be dependent on your permissions and your organization's Ambition package.
Interact with Tabs on Managerial Dashboard
The tabs available will be dependent on your organization's Ambition package.
Dashboard Tabs:
- Scorecard (Activities and Objectives)
- Productivity
- Coaching
- Metrics
- Goals
- Competitions
- Accolades
- Feed
Scorecard
A scorecard, the Activity and/or Objective tabs, on a managerial dashboard is a cumulative "super-score" of all the scorecards for user's you manage.
A scorecard on a managerial dashboard measures the weighted attainment of all Metric targets for users you manage. Similar to grade-school, these scores are measured on a 0-100+ scale.
A 0-100 scale in conjunction with the red - orange - yellow - green - blue color progression gives you a quick, concise look into your team's performance.
Why is my managerial dashboard scorecard blank?
If at any point in time you see a blank scorecard like the one below, whether it's the first time you log in or a year later, you will want to reach out to your manager or admin and have them verify your managerial relationships and create a scorecard for the groups/users you manage.
Productivity
On the productivity quadrant, you can see each of your users based on correlation to their activity and objective scores. The center is the median of each axis’ values, which designates the red & green areas of the graph.
Each point on the quadrant represents a user. When the point is clicked on you will be able to see: the user's name, Activity Score, Objective Score, and Productivity Ratio.
Learn how the quadrant can help power coaching conversations here.
Coaching
If the users you manage are involved in coaching events within Ambition, you can interact with those events right on your managerial dashboard!
Through the coaching tab you can:
- Create a note, check-in, group check-in, action plan, or program
- Comment on or approve agenda items as needed
- View historical check-ins, action plans, and notes
- View coaching analytics
- View open and historical asks
- View open action items
Metrics
The metrics tab allows you to view your team's contribution towards all other metrics that are not a part of your managerial scorecard.
Metrics that are a part of your managerial Activity and/or Objective score will be selected by default.
If no scorecards have not been configured for the users you manage, the first 25 metrics, alphabetically will be selected.
To view additional metrics or hide defaults from view:
↳ Click the Select Displayed Metrics button, to view metrics that are not a part of your default metrics.
Scroll and search for metrics you wish to view on your dashboard's metrics tab.
Check the box next to a metric you wish to view on the metrics tab. Uncheck the box next to any metrics you wish to remove from viewing.
Choosing All will display all active metrics your organization has created in Ambition.
If you wish to view selected metrics even if the users you manage don't have any data for the respective time frame, check the box next to Show Metrics Without Data.
Note, these selections do not permanently update the metrics shown as the metrics tab will always revert back to the default metrics.
Metric cards are able to be sorted alphabetically, by metric name, or by rank, the placement of your cumulative users against other managers.
The values you are viewing will be representative of the time frame selected in the Time Frame drop down in the right corner. ex Today, This Week, Last Month, etc.
Trends are viewable by clicking the Trends button on each metric card:
You can also compare your team's contributions against other users, role, teams in your organization through the Leaderboard and Trend options.
Clicking Leaderboard a metric card will navigate you into a leaderboard for the respective metric and time frame.
To generate a comparison trend line, you will first select a user, role, team, etc to compare the users you manage against through the Comparison drop down.
You will then be able to view your team's historical trend line against the user, role, team, etc you selected to be compared against by clicking Trend button on each metric card. Here you can view User Daily Averages or Totals.
In addition to viewing data in the card view, you can view data for users you manage in a time series or spreadsheet view as well.
Time series offers a view into collective metric totals over time periods. Click the Time Series button to view a collective metric value week over week, month over month, etc for all users you manage.
Metrics that are a part of your metric tab defaults will be selected.
Click the Select Displayed Metrics button to view time series data for metrics that are not a part of your defaults.
Alter the time series by updating the Ending time frame and # of days, weeks, months, quarters, or years. If there is no data from a time series, the day, week, month, etc column will not display. Ex. If 6 months ending "This Month" is selected, but users you manage only have data for 3 months, only 3 month columns will display.
If you wish to set a goal, view individual records that are making up a metric total, or pivot to view individual contribution, hover over a specific cell in the time series. After hovering, an ellipses icon will appear through which you can set a goal(if your package includes Goals), view raw records, or pivot the time series to view user contributions.
Spreadsheet offers a view into user by user metric totals over time periods. Click the Spreadsheet button to view metric totals for users you manage by day, week, month, etc.
Metrics that are a part of your Activity and/or Objective score will be selected by default.
If a scorecard has not been configured for the user or group, the first 25 metrics will be selected.
Click the Displayed Metrics button to view spreadsheet data for metrics that are not a part of your scorecard.
Change the spreadsheet's time frame by selecting a time frame in the upper right corner.
Like time series, you can set a goal by hovering over a cell, clicking on the ellipses icon, and clicking Set Goal (if your package includes Goals).

Managerial Dashboard Scorecard Calculation
Groups Dashboards are perfect for seeing how specific teams, roles, locations, and other groups in Ambition are performing.
However, instead of having to view each individual user’s or group's dashboard, a look at a managerial dashboard can show collective progress.
Ambition compiles data from each user using weighted averages that take into account the varying scorecards, metrics, and targets to generate a collective group score.
Learn more about group scorecard calculations and view examples here.
