What is the Ambition Data Explorer?
The Ambition data explorer is used to examine records at all stages of data processing. Every integration will have its own unique data explorer so that you can view records that have come only from that particular integration.Â

Â
How do I access the Data Explorer tool?
Access the Data Explorer through the left navigation > Administration > Integrations. Click"Settings"on the applicable integration and locate the Data Explorer tab.
Â
What types of records can i see in Data Explorer?
Every integration's Data Explorer tool will display the following types of records:
Uploads
The uploads view in the data explorer contains data that has been sent to Ambition. The uploads view will display any records that Ambition has received in the last 30 days.
Uploads are not records that have been processed in Ambition and compared against Ambition metric filters. Rather, uploads contain raw unprocessed data.Â
Viewing the fields and data that appear within uploads is helpful when troubleshooting a potential data discrepancy in your instance. These unprocessed records will show you what fields were included in or excluded from the uploads. You can then compare your findings against your metric filters to see if there was an issue with the record itself or the current metric configuration.Â
This data is often sent unformatted and is not easily read by the human eye. You can use the "parse" functionality on a record to organize the upload into a more human-readable and searchable format.
Depending on your integration set up, each Upload may contain just one record or several hundred records.Â
Â
Raw Records
Raw records are uploads that have been parsed into an easily readable and searchable spreadsheet format. As with uploads, raw records have not been processed and have not been filtered through Ambition metric logic.Â
In terms of troubleshooting data discrepancies, searching through raw records is preferable to uploads since raw records are provided in a cleaner, reader-friendly format.Â
While an upload can contain multiple records, a raw record is created for each record contain with an upload.Â
Â
Processed Records
Processed records are raw records that have been filtered through Ambition metric logic to determine if a given user should receive credit for a certain metric on a certain day.Â
Processed records have two status types: "Success" and "Failure".
The "Success" status indicates that Ambition has processed a record and this record passed the Ambition metric configuration, meaning that a user has received credit for that record in Ambition.Â
The "Failure" status does not mean that a record was not processed. Rather, this status means that a record was processed, but it did not pass the metric filters. Therefore, a user did not receive credit in Ambition for this record.Â
Â
Metrics
Metric records represent the final state of data processing.Â
Processed records with a "Success" status contributed to the final totals that appear on the metrics tab.
