Edit Check-Ins
Check-Ins created one-off, recurring, or through coaching programs or cadences can be edited.
What parts of a Check-In can be edited?
Edit Check-In
The creator/assigned manager, users with "Coaching: All Access" permission, and co-coaches assigned to the check-in can edit the check-in.
The participant of the Check-In and users with executive visibility, unless they are also the creator, cannot edit the check-in.
1. Access coaching check-ins.
Check-ins can be accessed through:
- the left navigation > Coaching > Check-Ins
- the left navigation > Coaching > Manage > Check-Ins
- an employee or managerial dashboard > Coaching tab
2. Click the ellipses icon, , icon and Edit on the check-in you wish to edit.
If you are within a check-in, there is also a blue Edit button in the upper right corner for quick edit access!
Check-ins that have a status of "completed", "expired", or "excused" cannot be edited.
Additionally, check-ins that were created from a cadence cannot be edited.
"Expired" or "excused "check-ins can be reopened and then edited if needed.

3. Make the appropriate edits.
Details
The type of check-in and participant cannot be edited.
Schedule or Recurrence Schedule
The date and/or time of the check-in can be edited. The "Extend and Notify" option can be utilized to update the Agenda Due Date as well.
If the check-in status is "Scheduled", you can update the Meeting Date and Duration as well as the Agenda Start Date, Agenda Due Date and Time Zone.
If the check-in status is "Pending Approval" or "Answers Due", you can update the Agenda Start Date, Agenda Due Date, and Time Zone.
If the check-in is associated with a coaching program and you wish to edit the recurrence schedule, those edits will be made to the actual coaching program. Learn more here.
Adjust the Meeting Date, Duration, Agenda Start or Due Date, or Time Zone.
If the check-in is a recurring check-in, editing the schedule will only alter the current 1:1's schedule.
If the check-in is a recurring check-in and you wish to edit the Recurrence schedule going forward, you can click the middle breadcrumb to be taken to the recurring check-in parent page.
Again note, if you have connected your Outlook or Google Calendar with Ambition and you need to update the meeting date and time of a recurring check-in, you will adjust the meeting date and time by updating the the calendar invite!
You can also access the parent page by accessing the Coaching > Manage tab. The locate the recurring check-in and click on the source column.
Click Edit on the parent page.
Click Edit Check-In to modify the recurrence schedule of future meetings.
Agenda
Agenda items can be added, edited, or removed.
Agenda items from check-in templates (editable or non-editable), program templates, and managed programs can be edited.
Agenda items can be optional or required, but at least 1 agenda item must be required (not optional) in order to save.
If the check-in status was "pending approval", agenda items that have been answered by the employee can be removed or edited. After saving, the status will update to "answers due" and the employee will be notified.
Rating Categories
If the check-in is associated with a coaching program and you wish to edit the associated rating categories, those edits will be made to the actual coaching program. Learn more here.
Co-Coaches
Co-coaches can be added and removed.
Co-coaches will be able to edit the check-in.
4. Click Save.
If the check-in status was "pending approval", the check-in status will update to "answers due" and the employee will be notified.
If the check-in status was "answers due" or "scheduled", no status change will occur and the employee will not be notified.
