Why Does My Group Dashboard Not Match the Metrics Tab or Analytics Reporting Totals?
Last updated: November 6, 2026
Group dashboards can sometimes show different totals than the Metrics tab or Analytics reports because each area considers metric data in a different way. After reading this article, you'll understand why those totals may not always match. You'll also learn how Scorecard metric assignments affect what appears on a Group dashboard.
Required permissions:
Admins and anyone who is a Group's manager or member can view the Group's Activity Score and Objective Score dashboards.
The Analytics Reporting: View permission is required to create and view Analytics reports.
Which Metrics Appear on a Group Dashboard?
A Group's Activity Score and Objective Score Dashboards only show the metric totals that appear on individual members' Scorecards.
Even if a metric appears on a Group Dashboard, that does not mean that it appears on all Group members' Scorecards. Consequently, not all members' attainment for that metric will be displayed on the Group Scorecard Dashboard -- only members who are responsible for that metric on their personal Scorecard will have their attainment displayed on the Dashboard.
Which Metrics Appear on the Metrics Tab and in Analytics Reporting?
Groups' Metrics tab and Analytics reporting will show a user's attainment for any and all metrics, even those that do not appear on their personal Scorecard.
Example: Comparing a Group Dashboard with Metrics Tab and Analytics Totals
Let's assume that a Group contains members from two Scorecard Groups: Account Executives and Key Account Managers.
Account Executives' Scorecard includes the Calls to Named Accounts metric, but the Key Account Managers' Scorecard does not.
Today, the Account Executives made 100 Calls to Named Accounts. The Key Account Managers collectively made 50 calls.
Because the Calls to Named Accounts metric only appears on the Account Executive Scorecard, the Group dashboard will only show 100 calls as having been made.
However, when you go to the Group's Metrics tab and search for Calls to Named Accounts, you will see a total of 150 calls. This is because all members of that Group collectively made 150 calls, even though Calls to Named Accounts was not a Scorecard metric for the Key Account Managers.
