What features are part of Motivate?

Last updated: May 19, 2026

This article explains what Motivate is, where to find it, and what each of its four features does, so you understand how Ambition connects performance data to recognition, competition, and visibility.

What is Motivate?

Motivate turns performance data into fuel. By connecting goals to recognition, competition, and visibility, it keeps reps intrinsically motivated beyond the quota conversation.

Motivate is a section of Ambition accessible from the side navigation bar - the vertical bar that stays visible throughout the site, just below the Hub. It brings together four features - GoalsCompetitionsAccolades, and Leaderboards - that connect performance data to recognition and visibility.

The Four Motivate Features

1. Goals - Track Progress Against Targets

Goals let you set a target for any metric in Ambition, such as calls made, deals closed, or pipeline generated, over a defined time period. Goals can be one-time or repeating, so they work equally well for a single push or an ongoing performance rhythm.

2. Competitions - Compete Individually or As A Team

Competitions pit individuals or teams against each other on one or more metrics. Scores can be calculated from a single metric or a combination of several, making competitions flexible enough to reflect what actually matters in a given period.

Competitions are always between specific people or teams, not the entire org by default, so participants only compete against relevant peers.

3. Accolades - Recognize Individuals and Teams

Accolades and Achievements are recognition that can be awarded to individuals or entire teams. There are two ways they can be given:

Automatic: Admins and Managers can configure accolades ahead of time so they are awarded automatically when someone hits a defined milestone — no manual action required once set up.

Manual: Admins and Managers can also create and award accolades on the spot for special instances, such as a standout performance or a team milestone that falls outside a standard metric.

4. Leaderboards - Real-Time Rep Rankings

Leaderboards show a live view of how reps rank against each other on a given metric. Rankings update in real time, so the board always reflects current performance rather than a snapshot from the last report run.

The default view ranks reps by Activity Score for the current month. Both the metric and the time frame can be adjusted to focus on whatever is most relevant, daily call volume, weekly pipeline, or any other metric tracked in Ambition.
