How Can I Create a Custom Skill?

You can create Custom Skills to get tailored answers and analysis from the AI agent. Skills can be used to both shape how the AI agent replies and to guide it to the information and insights that are most relevant to you.

In this article, you'll learn how to create a totally custom Skill from the ground up.

Required permissions:

  • There is no permission required to create a Skill for yourself to use.

  • The AI: Skill Sharing: Can Share Skills with Anyone permission is required to share Skills with any user in your organization.

  • The AI: Skill Sharing: Can Share Skills for Subordinate Users permission is required to share Skills with your direct and skip-level reports.

Access the Skills Page

  1. Go to Hub --> Skills --> + New Skill.

  2. You'll then be taken to the Skills creation page.

Create the Skill

  1. Use the Name and Description fields to give the Skill a name and one- to two-sentence summary.

  2. Use the Prompt field to enter instructions that the AI agent should follow when executing this Skill.

  1. Optional: If you included parameters, use the Parameter drop-down menu to determine what each parameter name should correspond to: a user, group, goal, competition, matchup, or metric.

  1. Under the Sharing section, select which users will be able to use the Skill in their AI agent queries and which users will be able to edit it.

Preview Your Skill's Output

  1. You can preview the skill by clicking on Preview & Save in the upper right corner of the page.

  2. If your Skill used a parameter(s), you'll see a pop-up menu asking you to select which entity should be used as the subject of the Skill query.

  3. The agent will need a few moments to process your requests. It will then show a preview of its answer based on the criteria set out in your Skill.

  4. Click on Cancel and make additional modifications.

  5. Click on Confirm & Save if you're satisfied with the reply.

Modify Your Skill

  1. Your Skill will be visible on the Skill management page.

  2. Use the breadcrumb menu beside a Skill's name to edit, duplicate, or delete that Skill.
