How Does Proration Affect Weekly Activity Scores and Objective Scores?

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Required permissions:

  • The Ambition Scores: Edit permission is required to turn Proration on/off for a Scorecard metric.

Required features:

  • Proration must be enabled for a metric and an employee must be marked as Out of Office for Proration to be applied to a Scorecard Target.

How Is Proration Applied to Weekly Scorecard Targets?

Ambition uses the following formula to adjust an employee's weekly Activity Score or Objective Score targets:

Prorated Target = Original Target * (Number of workdays not marked Out of Office / total number of workdays in the Scorecard timeframe)

Ambition defines weeks as a standard calendar business week (Monday - Friday) and not as custom seven-day periods.

Workdays are defined as Mondays through Fridays. Weekends are not considered to be workdays.

Examples: Proration Applied to Weekly Scorecards

For the examples below, assume that the target is 100 Prospecting Calls per week.

Situation 1: Employee Is Out of Office for 1 Day in the Work Week

  • Original Weekly Target: 100

  • How Proration is Calculated: Original Target * (Employee working days/5)

  • Proration Formula: 100 * (4/5)

  • Prorated Target: 80

Situation 2: Employee Is Out of Office for 3 Days in the Work Week

  • Original Weekly Target: 100

  • How Proration is Calculated: Original Target * (Employee working days/5)

  • Proration Formula: 100 * (2/5)

  • Prorated Target: 40

Situation 3: Employee Is Out of Office All Days in the Work Week (Monday - Friday)

  • Original Weekly Target: 100

  • How Proration is Calculated: Original Target * (Employee working days/5)

  • Proration Formula: 100 * (0/5)

  • Prorated Target: 0

Note:

  • If Proration is enabled for a weekly Activity Scorecard or Objective Scorecard metric and the employee is marked as Out of Office for the entire week, then all other weekly targets will be set to 0.
